Demonté recently returned from a 3-month trip to India where he meditated as much as 9 1/2 hours a day. "It's really hard," he told me, because "your subconscious brings up all sorts of stuff you had pushed out of your mind." He still meditates every morning for an hour. It keeps him calm, he says, and focused.
Demonté's shirt is thrifted. His pants are H&M. His shoes are Doc Martens. His accessories he picked up in India. Demonté describes his style as "expressional." Sometimes he wears turbans, other times dashikis, other times he dresses punk rock. As for his musical taste, it runs to R&B and neo-soul, particularly India Arie. Notice a theme here?
