"I'm not much of a brand person," Jane told me when I asked her what she was wearing. The most interesting item in her outfit, she went on to say, is her scarf, which her dad brought back for her from Nigeria. Her style, Jane said, is "reflective of her mood" and changes constantly, but she likes lots of patterns. Her musical taste, like her taste in fashion, is mood-dependent, and she listens to "all kinds," but R&B is "definitely [her] favorite." In particular, she's been playing a lot of Chrisette Michelle lately.
